Mini implant single visit protocol for Hybrid RME

Mini-implant assisted rapid palatal expansion (MARPE) is a successful non-surgical and non-extraction method for widening the maxilla (upper jaw), also known as the maxilla. A constricted maxilla is linked to issues such as crowded teeth, buccal crossbites, facial asymmetry, and nasal obstruction.

This patient is a mature female teenager who activated the appliance twice daily over 16 days. The MARPE single visit protocol incorporates four simple steps and immediate activation.

  1. LA (using RME eyelets as guides).
  2. Cortical perforations (using the OMI stent).
  3. RME fitting.
  4. Insertion of Infinitas OMIs (again using the Infinitas stent).

In addition, the Hybrid RME appliance, designed and 3D printed by DB Digital Solutions, offers a precise fit and eliminates the need to for separators/try-in appointments and then implant abutment screws.
